  • Social Studies Concentration Courses (36-48 hours): Required (15 hours) - GEOG 140, POLS 200, POLS 220, SOC 216, HIST 260;

  • Take additional courses from one of these areas to complete Social Studies emphasis (12 hours must be at the 300 level or above) Anthropology: 33 hours (adds 12 credits to the degree plan above, less the 1 hour elective in term 6) Economics: 33 hours (adds 12 credits to the degree plan above, less the 1 hour elective in term 6) History: 21 hours Sociology: 31 hours (adds 10 credits to the degree plan above, less the 1 hour elective in term 6) Geography: 33 hours (adds 12 credits to the degree plan above, less the 1 hour elective in term 6) Political Science: 30 hours (adds 9 credits to the degree plan above, less the 1 hour elective in term 6)

  • ^Concentraiton-Teaching Field GPA must be 2.5 or above in order to qualify for student teaching.

  • *Students must achieve and maintain a "B" or better average overall in the Teaching and Learning Support and Professional Education Courses in order to advance to student teaching and to complete licensure.

  • Student's must achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 for admission to Secondary Education and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 for graduation.
